Gifts For Architects In 2016

One of my most popular posts last year was, Gifts For Architects In 2015, so this year I decided to do the same and share some gifts for architects you may want to consider.

So whether your buying for an architecture student, an aspiring architect or a licensed architect this will help you answer the question: "what gifts do architects want?"

Feeling Creative?

Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is the architecture industry leader for manipulating photos and creating original images. Whether you are shopping for an architecture student or seasoned professional this is the go-to option.

The software is sold as a subscription plan, you can get a one year prepaid membership on Amazon:

Metal Architect Swing Arm Desk Lamp

Any architect would be glad to have this beautiful lamp on his or her desk.

The LED's keep cool so you don't melt your hand if you touch the light and the swing arm is perfect for desk work. It even comes in at a reasonable price too.

iPad Pro

The latest and greatest from Apple and with the new Apple Pencil it is amazing to quickly sketch out an idea or design.

I was doubtful whether the Apple Pencil would be very useful given the history of stylus-type devices have been average at best. However the level of control it provides is amazing. For instance, angling the pencil provides a thicker line.

For the second year in a row I am recommending the Bose QuietComfort Noise Cancelling earbuds. I have been using these for over a year now and I can honestly say they are absolutely worth it.

These earbuds do a fantastic job of blocking out background noise, whether I am walking around the city or at work it creates a very quiet experience. This not only creates a more peaceful environment but allows you to hear music or podcasts more clearly and at a lower volume.

The technology even does a great job of minimizing voices. If you are trying to focus in your cubicle, in studio or on a flight these are your best bet.

External Battery Pack

Last year I recommended the UNU Ultrapak Tour Portable Charger to keep all your gadgets charged. While it is an excellent product, it is a little on the expensive side.

This year I have been using a more affordable option and so far I really like it. The KMASHI 15000mAh External Battery Power Bank is a great value and can provide up to five or so full charges to an iPhone for example.

There are LED indicators that show you the remaining power along with two ports, so you can charge two devices simultaneously.
